Family bbq

I love food very much, so much that it might be my only true love. No wait, I love shoes almost as much, but food is my biggest love.

When food is the thing you look forward to the most, then family BBQ on the terrace on a warm summer evening will be one of the best things. At least if you ask me.

We all know the setting. Dad is standing by the grill handling the cooking like a real man, mom is bringing out all the side dishes, my older brother is getting my dad a beer, or a drink (depends on the mood), my younger brothers are annoying each other, and I, of course, help set the table.

Chili tuna pasta salad

When it’s warm in the weather, then we all have to agree that a cold side dish is great. Coleslaw is honestly a must-have, but my pasta salad has been a big part of family BBQ/come together. It doesn’t really have a recipe, but just some basic following steps that make it tasty and really good.

Funny enough is the main ingredient, pasta. I know right? You are all in complete shock of this info. who would even have guessed? secondly, canned tuna, but chicken can also be used or no meat at all, if you don’t eat that. Then you need fresh tomatoes and cucumber, preferably cold, and last but not least, you need mayo, creme fraiche, and sweet chili sauce for the dressing.

Cook the pasta, drain it and let it cool. Easy enough. Cut the veggies and drain the tuna or cook the chicken or ignore this step altogether. Haha. mix the dressing (we like it slightly more spicy, so we use a bit of tabasco as well) until you like the taste and mix everything in a big enough bowl. Only saying it like this because my grandma always says “I told you so” when I’m sure I can use the smaller bowl. She is way too smart. Make it right before eating or make it earlier and save it in the fridge, but it is best when cold. hang with friends, fall in love, have a laugh, drink a beer, cheer for friendship, watch the sunset, because time goes by in a blink of an eye. Make every minute worth it.
