Stick to the Plan

Trying to plan out your everyday to last detail is close to impossible, but planning the parts you do control are not as problematic as one may fear.

Planning ahead is one of the most common things to do for the everyday person. We like to be prepared for everything that is to come in the week.

The problem is sometimes how to start a planner the right way for you and how to keep going at it.

That’s why we today will break down the basics and get life into order.

First of all, don’t try to over do it with a lot of fancy designs and cryptic details, as we all know that will make it less comfortable for you to look at every day.

Keep everything simple and to the point, but not too simple so you forget what something was for, which also can ruin the idea of getting in control.

Decide right away if the planner and calendar should be combined or separated, as this will be confusing for you to suddenly change.

Having your calendar combined into the planner gives you the possibility to have everything in one place, but sometimes bringing your calendar for a meeting without your planner can be just as great, so this is very much a personal thing.

You can also have one both places if you like me have a small calendar in your handbag so when information is given, you can write it down right away and later fill into your planner at home.

Another very important part is don’t make it too small, since that will ruing the idea of being able to write in the things you want organized.

I personally have a binder as my planner as I can remove or add pages depending on what I might need.

I do like to have a planner that is only the things I need and going to Abby Lawson for some cute designs that are simple and straight forward is a very good place to look.

There are many other free printable places to look and this way you only get what you need, not what others might need.

I personally don’t have any kids, but my sister does, so she might want some pages in hers with her children’s plans for the week and a meal plan to make things more simple in the busy daily life.

If you are a student, a planner with more specific pages for you might be the best choice.

Now how do you make it a habit to use this planner and not just leave it in the corner to collect dust?

A very important step is to have it a place you are, like your desk or maybe the kitchen. This way you can’t use the excuse that you don’t see it enough to remember.

Another step is as told earlier, make it simple and easy to use so the habit will come painless and more smoothly. Don’t turn it into a math problem you need to solve, but rather a way to get your mind away for a bit to relax while getting everything in order.

Make sure to only have pages you will use and need so you don’t have to turn through a bunch of unused pages everyday. Trust me, it will make everything too much unnecessary work and make you leave it to dust.

Make space for all the small things that makes you smile so it becomes a treat to your day. I personally love doodling, stickers, and having note pages to write down ideas when I’m not by my laptop.

You can get a habit page to help you remember to at least look in your planner. Checking off everyday is such a simple task, but a great help in remembering.

I hope you find all of this information useful and will get your life in the order you want it to be in with less trouble or broken nails.

Life is beautiful and should be enjoyed even on a busy day, so let this help you get it under control and remember to stay safe.

Kisses,

Micala.
