Alice

Have you ever tried to sit down and reread a book you knew as a child, but understand on a whole other level as an adult?

Reading for me is getting away from the busy world around me, like traveling away for just a moment without having to pay anything (but the cost of the book of course).

Some days the city noise can really get the better part of you, especially if you have had a lot around you to stress you a bit.

That’s why you should make a soothing cup of tea, find the most comfortable place to sit, or even lay a bit (I do enjoy laying on my stomach, but only when I read and write), and grab a childhood favorite off of the shelves.

Let’s review Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, as an adult reader.

The book is sweet and funny, without being too much, though at times it can be hard figuring out who is saying which and who is doing what.

The wonderland becomes a nostalgic feeling, wishing you away to tea parties with the mad hatter and crocket with the queen of hearts.

The writing is simple and easy to follow along with, which also means that the book is over before you even realizes it.

It will bring you back to times of simplicity, when we as children didn’t worry about the everyday, but rather ran around the Valley of flowers, making flower crowns, spotting butterflies, and laughing with our friends.

It also reminds us how wild ones imagination was and how, as we grow older, we leave some of that magic behind.

I will definitely say 5-5 for the sweetness and simplicity, but 3-5 for storyline.

As the rain is slowly falling on this relaxing Sunday, it’s the perfect time for a warm cup of tea, curled up in a blanket, with a sweet story to bring you back to the wonders of ones childhood.

Stay warm and safe.

Kisses,

Micala.
