Christmas in a cup

When the days starts getting shorter and the weather colder, there is nothing better to keep you warm and happy like Christmas.
When December starts in our house, spending time together is a very big part of the days. We enjoy baking Christmas cookies together, play games, watch super sappy Christmas movies, and just all in all, be together as a family.
One thing that my brothers and I love to make and enjoy during the season is Christmas in a cup. It’s a homemade caramel, mixed with milk and cinnamon. Very easy to make and ohh so tasty. Which is why I want to share it with everyone. Don’t worry, it’s easy to make.
You will need:
- 4 – 5 Tbs. Butter (salted).
- 4 – 5 Tbs. Brown sugar.
- 1 L. Milk.
- 3 Tsp. Vanilla extract.
- A generous dash of Cinnamon.
- Candy canes (optional).
All you have to do is grab a big sized saucepan and melt the butter and sugar together. I like mine very sweet, so I always mix 5 and 5, but you can make more or less after your own liking. Now just make sure it turns into a super nice caramel.
When the caramel is all ready, mix in the milk. The caramel will harden and seem wrong in the beginning, but just keep on stirring until it combines with the milk.
Add the vanilla and cinnamon to the mixture and bring it to a boil. when it’s boiling, take it off the heat and pour it into mugs. I like to use a candy cane as a spoon to give it a slight minty flavor.
I hope you guys enjoy this little treat while watching some super sappy movies and eating some delicious cookies. it’s the season to enjoy time together and forget the sorrow of yesterday. Remember to stay safe and fine a reason to smile this season. Kisses.
