Father’s day

“Hey, Daddy, I want a diamond ring, bracelets, everything. Daddy, you oughta get the best for me” but not today, because today is all about you (then tomorrow it’s about me again. Haha). And that is a part of the lyrics from Della Reese’s song, Daddy.

Yes, this is a picture of my dad and older brother, enjoying a whiskey on the terrace while watching the sunset. And yes, I just took it 😉

We all love our dads so very much. I mean, come on. We are all daddy’s little girl (even if someone has ruined the ability to call yourself “daddy’s girl” with all the nasty versions… I still call my dad daddy… Live with it) and we will probably stay that way for the rest of our lives.

This is why we have to show them that we love them back, and today is the perfect day to do that thing, but there is one little thing. What do they like?

I don’t know about all of you sweethearts out there, but my dad is one of those dads that doesn’t wish for anything, so what can you give a man that doesn’t want anything.

Well, there is always something he likes, am I right? Some dads are handy, some love sport, some cars/motorcycles, some a good whiskey (or other alcoholic beverages), or even computer things (my dad’s an IT consultant). So then it shouldn’t be that hard in the end, right?

Right, well, it still doesn’t change the fact that some of us don’t know about a lot of that stuff and might not have too much time to sit down and study about it, so I will make it a bit easier for everyone.

So, first of all, alcohol. Not everyone will be able to buy that, of course, but if you know the old man loves a good cold beer, or like my dad, a nice glass of whiskey, then it might not be as hard as we think. For the beer part, why not get him a monthly subscription box of beer or a monthly subscription bow on whiskey (different ones depending on your country), or maybe just refill the cabinet with his favorite one (if you know it).

If he’s a sports lover, then why not see if you can get him a year pass or maybe just tickets to the next game. Yes, he might not bring you along (which some won’t mind), but he will love you dearly for it, trust me.

Tools might not be my strongest knowledge (even though I got many tools and know how to use them) since you have to know what he uses, to give him what he needs, but if you know, you know. Haha.

Another thing I just thought about is something that many dads got and likes to show off proudly. Their beard. My dad got a Viking-like beard that he is very proud of, so giving him some good quality products to treat it with is also a great idea for the man with everything.

I could probably keep going if I allowed myself, but I fear that this will turn into a whole book. So this is my ideas for now, which I hope can be useful. Maybe not this year, but then the next one. Remember to stay safe and believe in yourself. You are extraordinary.
