McQueen

Every person in the world are entitled to their own opinion, but when people show you that others opinion means very little, you respect them.
“I design clothes because I don’t want women to look all innocent and naive. I want women to look strong. I don’t like women to be taken advantage of. I don’t like men whistling at women in the street. I think they deserve more respect. I like men to keep their distance from women, I like men to be stunned by an entrance… I want people to be afraid of the women I dress.”
Lee Alexander McQueen.
We can all agree that McQueen had a very artistic way of creating his designs. Sometimes even on the scary side, but they had meaning. They had a story to tell every time and you would listen for every second of it. It was like watching a storybook open up and all the creatures running out, showing their true beauty.
I decided to not just sit as the viewer and instead try to get a look inside what was going on, which brought me to the documentary “McQueen”.
A truly eye-opening moment of seeing a man growing with such talent and passion, such ambition and eagerness, for something so pure and innocent, in such a powerful and unique way. A man that wanted to show women as powerful creatures and not fragile items.
Wearing clothes designed by McQueen, gave women a sense of that power and strength that easily gets pushed down in modern society.
You all know my grand love for shoes and the joy that brings me, but putting on a pair of McQueen shoes (even for a second, because you’re poor and can’t afford them) can make you feel the power he wanted you to feel. I get that the devil wears Prada, but the goddess wears McQueen.
The documentary “McQueen” has now been reviewed and I believe it deserves five pairs of fabulous shoes for being able to let os see what he truly wanted to deliver with his art. Thank you for the beautiful art you have created and may you rest in peace. Stay safe everyone.
